Smyrna Education Foundation (SEF) would like to thank our 2023-2024 sponsors!
Your generous donations allowed SEF to award many grants throughout the school year which include:
Each year SEF awards Core Education Grants to our area principals in amounts varying from $800 to $1000. The Core Education Grant funds are earmarked for academic enhancement, improvement, or remediation in eight areas :
(these can be smaller font)
core curriculum, media center, fine/performing arts, career/technical, remediation,
euro diversity, and technology.
Each August, SEF awards $500 mini grants to the Smyrna area schools. These grants distributed at the beginning of the year are earmarked for one specific focus area each year such as health & wellness, fine arts, campus beautification,
and ESOL education.
Smyrna Education Foundation is proud to encourage student growth by offering an annual Smyrna Scholars Essay Competition. The theme is financial literary and students from Campbell HS, Pearson MS, Griffin MS, and Campbell MS are encouraged to apply.
Board members provide hands on support volunteering at schools for book fairs, art contest judging, and food pantries. We aim to provide assistance particularly to schools that do not have PTA or foundation organizations. As well, SEF values relationships with other civic organizations in the community and works with them at events and volunteer opportunities.
Throughout the year SEF steps in to assist teachers, staff, and administrators of our schools by providing sweet treats or needed classroom school supplies. At the end of each year, SEF hosts a Principal's Reception at local partner Atkin's Park Tavern. Principals are celebrated for their successes and needs are discussed allowing SEF better focus and serve each school.

Thanks to long time supporter JRM Management, our largest and most visible fundraiser is the Taste of Smyrna event in September where we sell beverages to event goers. At this annual festival, we interact with the public promoting the local public schools, encouraging schools tours, and providing information about the area schools. Students from Campbell High Schoolman the booths and receive volunteer service hours. Next time you're at the festival stop by our tents, buy a drink, and chat!
